Sossusvlei Desert Lodge

Upon your arrival at Hosea Kutako (Windhoek) International Airport you will be met and assisted onto your light aircraft transfer to Sossusvlei Desert Lodge - transfer will meet all guests arriving Windhoek before 14.00.

Spend two nights at Sossusvlei Desert Lodge in a twin bedded villa built into rock. Your stay is on a full board basis including scheduled activities within the NamibRand Nature Reserve.

The surrounding area lends itself to numerous activities which include scenic drives by four-wheel drive vehicle on the NamibRand Nature Reserve where you encounter a variety of desert animals such as gemsbok, zebra, springbok, bat-eared fox, aardwolf, caracal and jackal. A wonderful way of experiencing the dunes is by All Terrain Vehicles with an experienced guide, who takes one along set paths in order not to damage the fragile ecology. Guided nature walks and hiking trails provide an insight into the scenic and ecological aspects of the environment with its wide diversity of desert-adapted flora and fauna. At the end of the day the blanket of stars, which lights up the desert sky, are brought to life through the lodge’s high-powered computerised telescope. Housed in a separate building, this Meade Telescope affords the amateur and the professional stargazer a close-up view of the galaxy.

Wolwedans Dunes Camp

Transfer by road to Wolwedans Dunes Camp.

Spend two nights at Wolwedans Dune Camp in a twin bedded tent. Your stay is on a full board basis including scheduled activities.

Lodge activities include early morning and afternoon drives which take you through ever changing countryside of grassy plains, dunes and along fascinating mountain ranges where you will encounter herds of oryx, antelope, springbok, zebra, ostrich and a variety of smaller desert inhabitants. Guided walks, bird watching and excellent stargazing also give you an insight into this fascinating desert area. Hot air ballooning is an optional excursion.
