Pemba Island has more interesting, varied and spectacular diving than anywhere in Africa. The coastline is dotted with unlimited diving sites and world-class deep-sea fishing. At times you can encounter schools of pilot whales and awesome humpbacks. Misali Island is the coral jewel in the crown, with shallow water reefs and pristine conditions for snorkellers.
Pemba also offers some of the best game fishing in the world, with barracuda, billfish, blue marlin, dorado, kingfish, sailfish, tuna and wahoo all found in the waters around the island and, especially in the Pemba Channel that runs between Zanzibar and Pemba. These legendary spice islands still elude an air of mystery and romance that have made them on of the world’s favorite destinations. The good weather all year round and picture snow white beaches forms a perfect blend of African charm.
Pemba is blessed with a variety of attractions, there are islands to explore, historical sites, fabulous beaches and forests to discover. Scuba diving is spectacular.
There are deep drop-offs and pristine shallow reefs with clear blue waters. Divers will find both hard and soft corals and wonderful marine life including Mantas and Turtles, pelagic marine life and schools of coral fish.
The Pemba Channel is renowned as one of the best places for fishing, in particular Marlin, but there are many other species to be found here.
